Clearweld Process

The laser absorbing additive known as "Clearweld®" enables complete independence from the requirements of the conventional transmissive laser welding process. The liquid material is applied in the welding plane prior to assembling the joining partners. Clearweld® absorbs the incident laser radiation, thus providing the desired cohesive junction. Unlike other IR-absorbing materials, Clearweld® becomes completely clear after being exposed to radiation, providing the possibility of color-independent design in the joining zone.

In addition to this new benefit, the Clearweld®-system offers interesting new possibilities for the geometrical design of the joining partners. Creating multi-layer joints becomes possible in one single process while maintaining a high processing speed.
